Life hasn’t always treated me fairly.

I can recall times when I was left out and I so badly wanted to fit in. As I grew older, I realized that I was in control of my story. I wanted to be the best version of myself I could be.

The difference between who I was and who I wanted to be lied within what I did.

It was time to make myself the priority and not let others influence the way I thought about myself.

When I became a mother, it was clear to me what I had to do. My children were always watching me. I couldn’t tell them to reach for the stars, all I could do was reach for them myself. I was their role model. But I knew role models are not perfect, and parents are not expected to be either.

I made it a priority to encourage and show my kids how to participate in physical activity.  As a family we ran 5k races together.  Together we developed better eating habits and focused on nutrition.  It was important too that they learned to treat others with compassion.
